Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill, a revue celebrating the life and work of Kurt Weill, opens August 22 at Masquers Playhouse in Point Richmond. It is a remarkable musical voyage through the career of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. Weill’s musical masterpieces are presented in a glorious blend of song and story that takes us from the terror of Hitler’s Germany to the glamour of the golden age of the Great White Way. From The New York Times: “Weill holds a solid place in the pantheon of 20th-century composers…a harbinger of today’s boundary-crossing musicians. A genius.” The show includes many of Weill’s most famous and beloved compositions, “Speak Low,” “Mack the Knife,” “The Saga of Jenny,” “Surabaya Johnny,” and many more.

The cast includes:
Nick Hengl
Tina Marzell
Jenny Mateucci
Maria Mikheyenko

Gayelan Tietje-Ulrich

Directed by Ellen Brooks
