Submissions for our 2015 season are now open, and will be accepted through April 30, 2014. If you submit an application, you will be contacted to schedule an interview on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the theater.
Each year prospective directors may submit applications for no more than two plays or musicals. Download a PDF copy of the application here. Include a PDF of the script, either on a CD-ROM or memory stick sent with your application, or via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you prefer, you may submit one single-sided copy of the script for each submission, in lieu of the PDF file. Include one CD of the cast recording for a musical submission. If you are mailing your application and plays (and CD’s) please mail them to: The Masquers Playhouse, Attention: Robert Love, P.O. Box 71037, Pt. Richmond, CA 94807. Submitted plays and musicals must have a previous production record and be represented by one of the major theatrical publishing houses.
If you have submitted a particular play in the last two years, please wait at least one year before re-submitting. Since we share a large portion of theater audiences with other theaters in our area, we try to refrain from selecting productions that have been presented within the last two seasons at any of the local theaters in our audience area.
Please be aware that the Masquers offer a Director’s stipend of $500.
We reserve the right to eliminate from consideration any submission for any reason.
If you have no particular play or musical in mind, but would like to discuss possible projects, please give me a call. If you would like to get an idea of the kind of shows Masquers has produced in the past, visit our Production History. We would also like to reserve the right to suggest alternate plays and/or musicals for you to consider.

Designers and Technicians
Designers and technicians of all kinds are welcome at the Masquers. You do not have to be a member to participate – indeed, having worked on a show, you then qualify for membership! Generally, the Director is responsible for assembling a production team and crew, so contact the Director listed in the audition notices. Designers are paid a stipend, while cast and crew (operators, stage hands, etc.) are unpaid. You do get some free passes for friends and family, though.

ENVISION and Off the Page
Envision is a series of limited-scale productions designed to give directors, performers and audiences the opportunity to explore material that, for various reasons, we cannot include in our regular season.
Off the Page is an ongoing series of readings of new, unpublished, un-produced plays or adaptations of non-theatre material for the stage by Bay Area playwrights.
