Presenting THE APPLE TREE Masquers Playhouse presents THE APPLE TREE features music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and a book by Bock and Harnick. Directed by Robert Love. For more info, contact: Publicist Tammara Plankers (510) 815-0815 or tplankers@aol.com The 1966 classic musical THE APPLE TREE opens March 26 in Point Richmond at Masquers Playhouse. This trio of one act musicals is about men, women and a little thing called temptation. Nominated for 8 Tony awards, the musical is based on The Diary of Adam and Eve by Mark Twain, The Lady or the Tiger? by Frank R. Stockton, and Passionella by Jules Feiffer which features additional book material by Jerome Coopersmith. THE APPLE TREE is directed by Robert Love and music directed by Pat King. It runs through May 1. The cast includes Pamela Drummer-Williams, Coley Grundman, Sue Claire Jones, Michael O’Brien, Shay Oglesby-Smith, Michelle Pond, Carina Salazar, DC Scarpelli and Larry Schrupp. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm with Sunday Matinees at 2:00 pm (Please note our new time for matinees) on April 11, 18 and 25. Tickets are $20 and all seats are general admission. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.masquers.org or by calling (510) 232-4031. The playhouse is located off of Highway 580 (Richmond Parkway exit) at 105 Park Place, Point Richmond across from the Hotel Mac. The Masquers will hold a Dinner Benefit performance of THE APPLE TREE on Thursday April 29. Tickets for the benefit performance are $45 and include dinner at the Hotel Mac. Two performances are scheduled, Friday May 7 and Saturday May 8 at 7:30 pm. Suzie Hardt and Todd Marsden of “A Tall Order” are teaming up with folk-singing quartet “Sierra Gold” for a show of singing, dancing and corny jokes. Enjoy Ballroom and Latin dance performances and live music performing hits from The Kingston Trio, The Eagles, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Kick off your shoes, have a drink and some refreshments and laugh like you haven't laughed in ages. Suzie and Todd have generously donated their time and talents to the Masquers for this special fundraising event.
