STAGE ONE Summer Theatre Program for Youth

STAGE ONE is a three-week program teaching the basics of theatre with a hands-on approach, culminating in a full scale musical production. Aspects to be covered include character work, improvisation, dance/stage movement, stagecraft and vocal work. Stage One provides students with the experience of designing and participating in a stage production from audition to rehearsal to performance, giving the students the opportunity to learn creative dramatics and theatre skills in a safe, FUN environment.

The program is designed for ages 9-16 and runs for two weeks each summer, at Masquers Playhouse. The goal of Stage One is to teach the process of producing a musical through workshops on Music, Dance, Set Design/Construction, Hair/Makeup, etc., culminating in staging a show.

STAGE ONE 2008 will be held July 7 – 25. Tuition is $500. Some scholarships are available. The STAGE ONE brochure and application are available here for downloading.
