Main Season
Every year we stage five productions for our main season, and a varying number of plays for the Envision series.
Submissions are generally accepted in the second quarter of each year, directors' interviews are conducted mid-summer, and our season is announced in late summer or early autumn. The submissions schedule for our 2010 season will be announced during the first quarter of 2009.
Submissions for our 2009 season are now closed. If you submitted an application, you will be contacted to schedule an interview sometime on June 28, at the theatre.
Each year, prospective directors may submit applications for no more than two plays or musicals. (To download a copy of the application, click here.) Include a PDF of the script, either on a CD-ROM sent with your application, or via e-mail to submissions@masquers.org. If you prefer, you may submit two single-sided copies of the script for each submission, in lieu of the PDF file. Include two CDs of the cast recording for a musical submission.
Submitted plays and musicals must have a previous production record. Unproduced plays should be submitted to our Envision program, as noted below.
If you have submitted a particular play in the last two years, please wait at least one year before re-submitting. Since we share a large portion of theater audiences with other theaters in our area, we try to refrain from selecting productions that have been presented within the last two seasons at any of the local theaters in our audience area.
If you have no particular play or musical in mind, but would like to discuss possible projects, please give me a call. We do have a list of plays and musicals that was created by our play-reading committee; to see that list, click here. If you would like to get an idea of the kind of shows Masquers has produced in the past, visit our past productions page. We would also like to reserve the right to suggest alternate plays and/or musicals for you to consider.

Envision Season
Envision is a series of limited-scale productions designed to give directors, performers and audiences the opportunity to explore material that, for various reasons, we cannot include in our regular season.

Technical requirements and expenses for production must be kept at a minimum. No one is paid for an Envision production.
Designers and Technicians
Designers and technicians of all kinds are welcome at the Masquers. You do not have to be a member to participate - indeed, having worked on a show, you then qualify for membership! Generally, the Director is responsible for assembling a production team and crew, so contact the Director listed in the audition notices. Designers are paid a stipend, while cast and crew (operators, stage hands, etc.) are unpaid. You do get some free passes for friends and family, though.
