Radio Play Auditions
Who: Masquers Playhouse presents a Four-Eyed Jacks Production!
When: February 29, 2020 @ 1 PM (ending no later than 4PM)
Where: Masquers Warehouse, 101 West Nevin at B St., Richmond, CA
What: Seeking 8 or more vocally-flexible actors to perform two original radio plays which are to be recorded before a live audience. Auditions will consist of cold reads from scripts. No pay.

“Smoosh, Inc.”
Burt Suave (British Secret Agent 0037—M.I.6 hopes he’ll remain a secret) is once again returned to active duty to fight the latest threat to world security and culinary excellence in the form of the fiendish criminal organization known as Smoosh, Inc. Will he prevail? Will he get the girl? Will he be able to tell the difference between Birmingham and Basingstoke?
Principal characters:
-> Burt Suave – Agent 0037 of British Intelligence.
-> Miss Funnymoney – Also known as “B”, Suave’s boss.
-> Chef Morrie (a.k.a Dr. V.B. Morbid) – An evil villain of the second water.
-> Ernestina Blohard – An evil villain of the first water (with pet ant-eater, Dudley).
-> Chef Nancy (a.k.a. Natasha Nikarovna) – A second-water evil villain’s illicit hench-person.
-> Valet Girl – Works for Cheap Holidays Hotel chain.
-> Girl – A different girl (cameo).
-> Front Desk Girl – Works for Cheap Holidays Hotel chain.
-> Various other evil-doers (cameos and walla).
“The Attack of the Curse of the Mummy’s Ghost of Doom”
Join Dr. Kramer and his sidekick, Cheekie, two hapless, itinerant adventurers who stumble upon an archaeological dig somewhere in Egypt and somewhere in the mid-twentieth century. Wallace Carlisle and his wife Helen, the leaders of the dig, are seeking, with the help of the famous starlet Rita Fontenescu and several locals, the legendary tomb of the great Princess Louise Kepi Kahotep. But what attacks, curses, ghosts and dooms will they face if (and when) they find it?

-> Professor Wallace Carlisle – an eminent professor of Egyptology
-> Helen Carlisle – the eminent wife of the professor
-> Rita Fontenescu – an eminent starlet
-> Cheekie – an eminently able sidekick to Dr. Kramer
-> Gahiji – the eminently expendable expedition guide
-> Baba Oba Nebibit – an eminent Egyptian priest of the old ways
-> Ahseem – Baba Oba Nebibit’s eminent and trusted assistant
-> Princess Louise Kepi Kahotep – an eminent ancient Egyptian princess (deceased)
-> Kemnebi – an eminent ancient slave to the princess (not quite deceased)
** Also seeking Live Sound Effects performers for both pieces. **
