Masquers Playhouse is pleased to announce auditions for its upcoming production of:
Roe

What
ROE is the timely story about the complex young women behind the trial – attorney Sarah Weddington and plaintiff Norma McCorvey (“Jane Roe”), as they embark on separate journeys that mirror the current polarization over the landmark decision. Shocking, humorous, and “full of nuance and complexity” (NPR), Roe illuminates the heart and passion that each side has for their cause.
We are looking for 11 actors (plus one young person who can play a 7 year old), 8 female presenting, 3 male presenting.
When
Auditions are on Sunday February 26 and Monday February 27 at 7:00pm – 10:00pm
Callbacks will be Saturday March 4 at 1:00pm

Preparation
Please sign up on SignUpGenius. Auditions will be reading sides from script.
Please bring a headshot and resume if you have them, and a list of all known conflicts. Actors will be asked to read from sides. Actors should be dressed in clothes they feel comfortable moving in. No movement experience necessary.
You must bring proof of vaccination in order to audition. Auditioners who have not been fully vaccinated will not be permitted to audition.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin in April.
Performances: Four week run from June 9th to July 2nd.
Roles: We are looking for 11 actors (plus one young person who can play a 7 year old), 8 female presenting, 3 male presenting. Actors not playing Sarah and Norma will play multiple roles. BIPOC actors highly encouraged to audition.
Stipend: Actors are volunteers but will receive a small stipend to defray transportation costs.
