Second Samuel
by Pamela Parker
directed by Suzan Lorraine
running February 2 – 25, 2024
Story:
A poignant comedy/drama about family and perspective. It is a simpler time in the late 1940s in Second Samuel, a sleepy town in South Georgia. The Great Depression is fading into memory, WWII has been won, the election is over, and “Give ’em Hell Harry” is now President. It has been an exciting time for sure and the folks in Second Samuel are ready for things to settle down and get back to normal.
Except— this was the summer Miss Gertrude passed away, and dark secrets were about to be revealed. Nobody could have imagined how the death of one sweet old lady would turn the entire town upside down, leaving everybody wondering if anything would ever be normal again.
