On behalf of everyone at Masquers, we thank you, we celebrate, we welcome you!
If you’ve driven or walked through Point Richmond recently, you may have noticed the beautiful newly painted exterior of the Masquers Playhouse at 105 Park Place, in the heart of “The Point.” After six years of being dark, Masquers has finally reopened with it’s 2022 season – an adaptation of Shakespeare’s As You Like It. We at Masquers have raised funds, made plans, hired professionals, and rolled up our sleeves to come to this happy place. On completion of the structural repairs, and redesigning the interior look of the theater, it occurred to some of us that we could use a little love for the façade as well. No one quite remembered how long it had been since the last paint job, but it was clear that the outside no longer reflected the refurbished inside. While it took some time to find the right painters for the job, we finally settled on the good folks at J&J Dynamic Construction. They were amazing, and got the job done in only a day and a half!
Since so many of our kind and generous patrons funded our interior work, we as a member-community wanted to fundraise for the exterior painting ourselves. This stunning new face lift is our gift to the Point Richmond community and to all of the good people that support us. This community has been so supportive of our journey back to theater health.
