Meet the Cast
Gene [he/him] is delighted to return to Masquers. He looks forward to an absolutely flawless show with this hilarious cast and crew. Favorite roles include Wargrave in And Then There Were None (right here), Elyot in Private Lives (DMT), and Manwaring in Jane Austen's Lady Susan (Bella Union). By day, he designs adventure video games for Haiku Games. He’s represented by Cast Images. Thanks to Christine U'Ren for kissing lessons.
Amy can’t believe her luck to be making her Masquers Playhouse debut among such a good-looking, talented team of artists.
A Palo Alto native, Amy spent a solid 10 years living in New York, where she got her clown training from Lucas Rooney (NYU, Juilliard) at The Studio / New York. She is a big fan of physical comedy, and her given clown name is Pancake Tina. Since moving back to the Bay Area in 2020, Amy has been acting, dancing, and singing her way around the local theater scene, including in Young Frankenstein (Los Altos Stage Company), The Girl on the Train (Coastal Rep), Murder on the Nile (Coastal Rep), Silent Sky (Pacifica Spindrift Players), and It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (Town Hall Theater). Much love and gratitude goes to her family, and all of you for supporting this show and local theater.
Sam [he/they] is very excited to play in The 39 Steps here at Masquers. He has yearned to be in this play for more than a decade now, and can’t wait for you to laugh with him! Sam is an award-nominated physical actor trained at L’Accademia dell’Arte in Italy, and has performed in shows all around the Bay, from Awesome Theatre in San Francisco, to Tabard in San Jose, to Oakland Theatre Project last year. He thanks his dearest A and H, and is giddy with excitement, and hopes you enjoy our absurd and whimsical romp!
Damion is thrilled to be making his Masquers Playhouse debut and overjoyed to return to the role of Clown 2 in The 39 Steps. Previously, he portrayed the role at Chanticleers Theatre and was a finalist for the Featured Performer TBA award. Recent roles include Stephen, the waiter from hell, in Slow Food, Sagot in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and Nate and Andrew in Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays (Altarena), Venticelli I in Amadeus (The Other Other Theatre Company), Schuppanzigh in Black Comedy (Douglas Morrisson Theatre). Other non-Bay Area roles and shows have included Steve in Eat It (NYC), The Mixologist in Three Stories to the Ground (Baltimore/NYC Fringe), Shannon in Poor Superman (Baltimore), Madeline Astarte/Virgin Sacrifice in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom (DC), Fauna Alexander in Sleeping Beauty, or Coma (DC), Roman in The Fairy Garden (DC), and Chester Arthur in Comrades and Lovers (Atlanta).
